Overview As a Senior Superintendent, you will lead on-site construction and commissioning for mission-critical facilities, focusing on safety, schedule, quality, and code compliance. You will coordinate multi-trade teams, integrate electrical distribution and MEP systems, and partner with owners, engineers, and design teams to deliver complex installations. You will drive commissioning, testing, and turnover while ensuring adherence to standards such as ASHRAE and Uptime Institute Tier. Responsibilities- Provide on-site leadership of construction crews, subcontractors, vendors, and commissioning teams for mission-critical facilities
- Manage installation and QA/QC of electrical distribution systems (MV/LV, switchgear, transformers, UPS, ATS, PDUs, bus duct, cable tray)
- Oversee structured cabling, fiber splicing, raised floors, hot/cold aisle containment, and data center infrastructure
- Supervise mechanical system installation and testing (chillers, CRAC/CRAH, cooling towers, BMS)
- Coordinate MEP trades, resolve interfaces, emphasize constructability and sequencing
- Lead BIM/Revit coordination and verify as-built conditions
- Plan and execute FAT/SAT/TAB with commissioning agents, ensuring design intent and standards
- Maintain site safety and compliance (OSHA/HSE, LOTO, crane operations, incident reporting)
- Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, punch lists, and closeout docs
- Develop project schedule/resource plans using MS Project/Primavera P6; manage manpower and logistics
- Liaise with clients, engineers, inspectors for NEC/NFPA compliance and successful inspections
- Use Procore/PlanGrid/Bluebeam for progress tracking and communications; provide progress reports
- Perform thermal imaging inspections and other diagnostic testing as required
- Provide mentorship and training to superintendents and field staff
- Lead site security, access control, and CCTV coordination to maintain mission continuity
Key requirements- Minimum 10 years construction experience, with at least 5 years in mission-critical or data center environments
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical distribution and MEP systems
- Experience with data center infrastructure: raised floors, hot/cold aisle containment, CRAC/CRAH, chillers, BMS, pumps
- Familiarity with FAT/SAT/TAB, ASHRAE standards, Uptime Institute Tier requirements
- Proficiency in MS Project/Primavera P6; experience with Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam; BIM/Revit for coordination
- Strong NEC/NFPA code knowledge; OSHA/HSE compliance and LOTO procedures
- Experience with crane/rigging/hoisting operations and managing vendor equipment
- Excellent communication and leadership, with ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams
- Certifications: OSHA 30, commissioning certifications, NICET or equivalent (preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
