Engineering Manager Transportation and Warehousing

In this role you will lead engineering programs across distribution centers and plants to optimize warehouse processes, assets, and infrastructure within budget. You will own PIT and racking initiatives, coordinate with automation and operations teams, and drive safe, reliable execution across varied environments. You'll shape standards, lifecycle plans, and capital strategy while partnering with suppliers and cross-functional teams to enable automation-ready facilities. • Serve as SME in material handling equipment, racking systems, warehouse automation, and facility design and optimization
• Develop cost-reduction and efficiency strategies within area of expertise
• Create and maintain multi-year execution plans for owned and leased facilities
• Oversee operating budgets and evaluate capital investment tradeoffs
• Evaluate emerging technologies for applicability across the distribution network
• Develop equipment specifications and standards for modern warehousing concepts
• Build relationships with strategic suppliers to drive accountability and value
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Transportation and Warehouse Operations, Manufacturing Platform teams, Program Management, and Finance
• Develop financial justification for optimization and capital projects
• Lead capital planning and execution for PIT and racking projects and network-wide initiatives
• Manage capital equipment installation projects with budget, schedule, and performance accountability
• Apply understanding of business drivers and impact of capital investments on corporate strategy
• Engage external engineering firms, 3PLs, and DC leadership to support site-specific execution

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics Management, or related field
• Minimum of seven years in industrial engineering or logistics and distribution engineering
• Extensive experience with warehouse infrastructure, MHE, racking, dock equipment, and drop lots
• Experience developing and delivering programs from concept to execution
• Experience with material handling automation technologies (AGVs, AS/RS, conveyors)
• Experience influencing cross-functional teams and third-party relationships without direct reporting authority
• Strong presentation and communication skills for senior leadership
• Experience driving programs in matrixed organizations
• Experience building internal and external relationships and holding vendors accountable
• Background in inventory management or warehouse operations interfacing with distribution operations
• Project management experience for capital projects up to $5 million
• Solid understanding of distribution operations and end-to-end supply chain operations
• Willingness to travel up to 50% to plant and distribution centers
