Overview As Senior Computational Designer, you help move design computing from expert practice to firm-wide capability. You will develop and prototype automation workflows for data centers, industrial, and mission-critical projects, then scale successful solutions across disciplines. Collaborating with design, BIM, IT, and platform teams, you translate project needs into reusable computational tools that improve delivery and reduce risk. You'll lead with curiosity in AI-assisted workflows and showcase business value to leadership and clients.

Responsibilities- Apply computational design to mission-critical and technically complex projects (data centers, industrial, advanced manufacturing).
- Develop parametric and data-driven workflows connecting geometry, program, engineering inputs, layouts, and documentation outputs.
- Support early design exploration and option studies to inform decisions.
- Improve cross-disciplinary coordination to reduce rework and increase design clarity.
- Translate challenges into reusable workflows and delivery methods for future projects.
- Lead conversations to identify high-value automation opportunities and build Revit-based automations (Dynamo, Rhino.Inside.Revit, Grasshopper, Python, C#, Revit API).
- Automate repetitive design, analysis, QA/QC, documentation, modeling, and data-management tasks to speed and coordinate delivery.
- Prototype, test, and validate proofs of concept against real project needs; transition successful prototypes to scalable BIM-integrated tools.
- Balance innovation with reliability, ensuring automations are maintainable and ready for handoff; support firmwide workflows.
- Support planning, modularization, spatial coordination, MEP coordination, equipment layouts, and repeatable documentation for high-complexity projects.
- Structure project data to enable faster, clearer decisions across disciplines and phases.
- Evaluate layout, coordination, performance, and constructability tradeoffs; standardize workflows across recurring project types.
Key requirements- Advanced expertise in Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit, Dynamo, Rhino.Inside.Revit, Speckle, the Revit API, and custom computational design components.
- Experience with BIM-integrated computational workflows and project-ready automation.
- Professional experience applying computational design to data centers, industrial facilities, mission critical projects, or similar complex buildings.
- Proficiency in scripting or programming (Python, C#, JavaScript) with focus on reliability and usability.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools to explore and extend computational workflows.
- Ability to translate architectural and engineering requirements into actionable computational frameworks.
- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems coordination and fast-track delivery environments.
- Engineering background or experience with engineering teams is a strong plus; systems thinking and process improvement experience are valued.
- Mentoring experience in computational design methods and ability to define success criteria and KPIs.
