Overview

In this role you will support a leading international law firm's Defense, National Security & Government Contracts Practice Group in Washington, DC. You will work on complex government contracts matters, including procurement compliance, bid protests, and internal investigations, collaborating across teams on regulatory issues and disputes. The role offers exposure to high-profile matters at the intersection of government, business, and national security. You will help shape strategy and provide precise, practical legal guidance in a demanding environment.

Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on government contracts and federal procurement matters
  • Handle bid protests, Contract Disputes Act claims, and related disputes
  • Counsel on FAR and procurement regulations compliance
  • Conduct and support internal investigations involving government contracting issues
  • Draft and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal memoranda
  • Provide strategic guidance on regulatory, compliance, and risk management matters
  • Collaborate with cross-practice attorneys on complex matters involving government, regulatory, and national security considerations
Key requirements
  • JD from a top-tier law school with excellent academic record
  • Active DC Bar in good standing (or eligible)
  • 5-8 years of substantive Government Contracts experience
  • Experience handling government contracts matters including bid protests, CDA matters, and internal investigations
  • Strong knowledge of FAR and related procurement regulations
  • Experience advising on compliance, investigations, and dispute resolution in government contracting
  • Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; collaborative team player
  • Large law firm experience preferred
  • Ability to independently manage complex matters with high attention to detail
