Overview

In this role you will advance cardio-metabolic drug discovery by developing and applying biochemical and cell-based assays to evaluate candidates. You will work within the Biochemical and Cellular Pharmacology Department to support lead identification and optimization, and to define target candidate profiles. You will drive mechanistic studies on receptor signaling and protein interactions, shaping screening cascades and translational insights. This is a hands-on, collaborative position in a fast-paced pharma/biotech setting with opportunities to impact patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Design and execute rigorous experiments independently and troubleshoot issues
  • Drive screening efforts across multiple projects using a broad toolkit of functional assays
  • Pioneer novel assay platforms to interrogate receptor pharmacology and mechanism of action
  • Lead automation and efficiency improvements using laboratory robotics to accelerate timelines
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, generate high-quality presentations, and communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Contribute to defining target candidate profiles and screening cascades across the pipeline
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in a related field
  • 8+ years of hands-on research experience in fast-paced pharma/biotech environments
  • Expert-level proficiency in culturing and performing assays on a wide range of mammalian and primary cells (including cardiomyocytes)
  • Experience with stable cell line generation and gene-editing techniques (e.g., CRISPR)
  • Knowledge of GPCR signaling, ligand-receptor binding kinetics, and pharmacological characterization
  • Hands-on experience with microplate biochemical and cellular assays (HTRF, AlphaScreen, luminescence readouts)
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, independence, and teamwork
