Overview As a Conflicts Attorney, you evaluate and resolve conflicts of interest for new business intake, matter openings, and onboarding. You advise firm leadership on risk and ethics, support matter-opening workflows, and maintain high-quality conflicts data and processes. You draft waivers, screeners, and engagement materials, and navigate Outside Counsel Guidelines. You will educate attorneys on ethical obligations and conflicts procedures while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enable compliant growth.

Responsibilities- Identify and analyze actual and potential conflicts for existing and prospective clients using internal systems and external databases
- Recommend and implement conflict-resolution strategies (ethical walls, disclosures, consent letters, engagement modifications)
- Draft and maintain conflict waivers, disclosures, engagement letters, and supporting documentation
- Review Outside Counsel Guidelines and engagement letters for conflicts provisions; advise on requirements and updates
- Conduct conflicts analyses for lateral attorney candidates and coordinate resolutions with Division Managers and Ethics Committee
- Educate attorneys and staff on ethical obligations, conflicts procedures, and client relationship considerations
- Participate in conflicts on-call rotation and respond to after-hours conflict checks
- Support matter opening workflows and ensure data quality in conflicts systems
Key requirements- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active bar status in MD (Maryland)
- Minimum 3 years of conflicts or professional responsibility experience in a mid-to-large law firm
- Minimum 2 years of private practice experience preferred
- Proficiency with conflicts/new-business intake systems
