Overview In this role you lead and grow a team of engineers at the East Farmingdale facility, focusing on high-precision circuit cards and design assurance firmware. You'll partner with other disciplines to shape architecture and deliver on-time, quality designs that meet program needs. The position blends technical depth with people leadership to strengthen the department's capabilities. You'll drive MBSE growth and continuous improvement to support future products.
Responsibilities- Guide and mentor a team of engineers to ensure quality designs
- Oversee performance evaluations, promotions and compensation for the department
- Supervise design, development, testing and deployment of VPX circuit cards and firmware on schedule and within budget
- Collaborate with other disciplines for architecture, implementation and integration of FPGA/SoC DSP processing
- Provide discipline-level inputs to proposals
- Evaluate and deploy tools to improve electrical and firmware design in a continuous improvement mindset
- Grow the MBSE modelling capability for future products
- Troubleshoot multi-discipline design issues
Key requirements- Minimum 5 years of experience leading or managing a team of individual contributors
- Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering design, development and test experience
- Experience leading a team or department of Electrical Engineers in circuit cards and firmware/software
- Ability to coach, guide, mentor and support a team to ensure quality designs
- Technical expertise in power electronics, circuit design and firmware
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills
- Excellent analysis and decision-making skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Experience with VHDL and Verilog FPGA Design including DSP
- Experience with GIT, SourceTree and Jira
- Experience operating in an Agile Development environment
- Experience with Circuit Card design
- Experience with writing Python and C/C++ software (benefit)
- US Citizen and ability to obtain DoD security clearance
- BSEE/BSCE required
