Overview

As Corporate Counsel, you will guide Okta's Public Sector regulatory strategy while shaping scalable legal support for regulated products. You'll work with product, engineering, compliance, security, and sales teams to navigate complex US and international frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP, DoD SRG, FAR/DFARS) and bring new offerings to market. This role blends legal insight with business pragmatism to enable rapid, compliant product development for government and regulated environments. You'll partner with leadership to elevate Okta's Public Sector practice globally and meaningfully impact customers. This is a high-impact, mission-driven legal leadership role at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Provide end-to-end legal support for Public Sector teams focusing on Regulated Products and Services
  • Act as expert on emerging cloud service policies and educate internal teams on shifting regulations
  • Partner with cross-functional legal counsel to ensure products meet US and international standards
  • Embed with Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Security to navigate authorization processes (e.g., FedRAMP) from conception to launch
Key requirements
  • 5-7+ years of legal practice with at least 2 years in US Public Sector and Regulated Products
  • J.D. and active Bar admission
  • Experience with IT products and SaaS business models
  • Working knowledge of US Federal, state, and local regulations impacting tech
  • Strong ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Technical undergraduate degree is a plus
  • Self-starter / roll-up-your-sleeves mindset
  • Agility in fast-paced, evolving environments
  • Strong relationship-building with internal partners
  • Tech fluency with AI platforms and tools to optimize internal legal workflows
  • Experience advising on regulatory frameworks for cloud services
  • Knowledge of FedRAMP, DoD CC SRG, FAR/DFARS and related compliance processes
