Overview In this role you will support a nationally recognized Government Contracts & National Security practice in Washington, D.C. You will handle bid protests, investigations, and regulatory matters for aerospace, defense, and technology clients. You will advise on federal procurement rules, national security issues, and transactions involving government contractors. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage risk and ensure compliance, contributing to high-stakes matters. This role offers mentorship, exposure to complex matters, and opportunities to influence policy-aligned outcomes.

Responsibilities- Handle bid protests, litigation, and investigations related to government contracts
- Advise on compliance with federal procurement regulations, grant requirements, and national security laws
- Support transactional matters including due diligence, M&A, and regulatory approvals for government contractors
- Assist in negotiating complex agreements with government agencies (OTAs, CRADAs, TIAs)
- Counsel clients on federal funding programs and compliance with Inflation Reduction Act and CHIPS Act
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address regulatory, transactional, and enforcement risks
Key requirements- 3+ years of substantive government contracts experience
- Active Bar Admission in Washington, D.C., in good standing
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and in teams in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with mergers, acquisitions, or transactional matters involving government contractors (plus)
- Judicial clerkship experience with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit or the Court of Federal Claims (highly valued)
- Academic training in government contracts (plus)
