Overview You will support a New York-based healthcare practice by leading hands-on litigation and payment-recovery matters for healthcare providers. In this role you will manage matters from start to finish, including guardianship and administrative proceedings, while navigating New York's regulatory landscape. You'll collaborate with clients to develop effective strategies, aiming to secure timely payments and favorable outcomes. Compensation / Benefits- Salary $180,000-$200,000 (contingent on experience)

Responsibilities- Manage a high-volume caseload for healthcare providers to ensure continuity of payment
- Negotiate and resolve private pay matters; initiate litigation for non-payment when appropriate
- Handle guardianship matters from initiation through hearing and resolution
- Conduct nursing home discharge hearings
- Initiate estate proceedings in Surrogate's Court
- Appeal denials of benefits from Medicaid, managed care plans, and insurers
- Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop effective litigation strategies while ensuring compliance with healthcare and procedural laws
Key requirements- Admitted to practice in New York
- Solid litigation experience with familiarity with New York Civil Practice Law and Rules
- Experience on the plaintiff's side preferred
- Comfortable managing a large caseload and meeting deadlines
- Preferred: guardianship filings and Surrogate's Court matters, and collection work
- Desirable: familiarity with Federal and New York debt collection laws
- Highly valued: experience with New York Medicaid rules, regulations, and administrative procedures related to long-term care coverage
- Strong written and oral advocacy
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Collaborative approach with clients and colleagues
- Knowledge of New York CPLR
- Experience with guardianship and Surrogate's Court procedures
- Experience with Medicaid rules and long-term care administrative procedures
