Overview In this role, you manage and resolve Bank of America's most complex distressed commercial credit relationships, guiding strategies to maximize recoveries and minimize losses. You work with senior leadership, Risk, Legal, and business partners to steer outcomes across the resolution lifecycle. You lead negotiations and oversee legal and recovery actions, shaping strategies that protect enterprise value. This position offers impact across a high-stakes portfolio and contributes to SAG's risk management and process improvements.

Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of highly complex criticized, classified, and distressed commercial credits through all resolution stages
- Develop and execute credit resolution strategies to maximize recoveries and protect the Bank's interests
- Assess borrower performance, collateral, guarantor strength, industry conditions, and legal factors to determine optimal resolution paths
- Lead negotiations including restructurings, repayments, settlements, discounted payoffs, and collateral dispositions
- Prepare and present strategy recommendations, approvals, and portfolio updates to senior leadership and risk partners
- Serve as primary contact for borrowers, sponsors, attorneys, and lenders
- Manage bankruptcy, litigation, foreclosure, receivership, and related legal recovery actions
- Monitor portfolio performance, recovery trends, and risk migration to flag issues and drive action
- Support portfolio forecasting, reserve discussions, and criticized asset reporting
- Coach and mentor junior associates in credit and workout skills
- Contribute to SAG process improvements, risk management practices, and portfolio performance
Key requirements- 7+ years in middle market or large corporate loans, credit restructuring, or related risk management
- Extensive knowledge of commercial lending, credit analysis, loan documentation, collateral analysis, and credit structures
- Proven negotiation skills and experience leading borrower, sponsor, legal, and lender discussions
- Strong financial analysis skills including cash flow, collateral, repayment capacity, and enterprise valuation
- Sound credit judgment in complex, time-sensitive situations
- Ability to work independently while influencing multiple stakeholders
