Overview In this role you will advance the CNRC's mission to improve the nutritional health of children and prenatal/lactating women. You will join an interdisciplinary team and develop an independent, impactful research program across basic, clinical, or community settings. Expect to lead high-quality studies, publish prolifically, and secure funding, especially federal NIH grants. You will mentor others, maintain rigorous lab operations, and foster collaboration across facilities and mentors.
Responsibilities- Maintain and lead high-quality laboratories and promote their use for training and research
- Establish and sustain a productive publication record in child/maternal nutrition
- Obtain and manage research funding, with emphasis on NIH/federal grants
- Develop and lead research programs in nutrition, metabolism, development, obesity prevention, or related areas
- Collaborate across clinical, community, and basic science settings to advance CNRC missions
- Mentor students, postdocs, and junior researchers; foster training experiences
Key requirements- M.D., D.V.M., Ph.D., or other science-based doctoral degree
- Evidence of scholarly activity and outstanding scientific accomplishments
- Strong publication record
- Strong funding record as a principal investigator, especially NIH grants
- National reputation in child or maternal nutrition research
- Ability to maintain high standards of quality control and documentation
