Overview As Chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine you will unite and elevate the education, research, and clinical missions of the division within UT Southwestern. You will set strategy, oversee operations, and drive growth of clinical programs while strengthening extramural funding and scholarly output. You will lead a diverse faculty across multiple sites and mentor the next generation of physicians, educators, and researchers. Responsibilities- Provide division-wide leadership, operations, and strategic direction
- Oversee educational, scientific, and clinical programs across affiliated hospitals and clinics
- Drive development of clinical programs and support research activities
- Foster mentorship, faculty recruitment, and professional development
- Advance extramural funding and scholarly impact
- Collaborate with hospital administration, faculty, and learners to sustain financial health and growth
Key requirements- MD or DO or foreign equivalent
- ABIM certification and eligible for Texas medical license
- 10 years of faculty academic experience with proven extramural funding and mentorship leading to trainee funding
- proven leadership of extensive clinical programs in an academic setting
- ability to define clinical and academic visions and mentor across missions
- strong experience in research, clinical practice, and education
- commitment to medical student, resident, and fellow education and research activities
- ability to build collegial relationships in a complex environment
