Overview

In this role you will lead pricing and legal project management initiatives to deliver cost-efficient results for clients while supporting the firm's financial goals. You'll educate attorneys on pricing models and firm economics, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive pricing strategies for proposals and client engagements. You will shape matter budgeting, tracking, and reporting, and help scale tools to improve value delivery. This is a client- and attorney-facing position with broad impact on economics and process improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Drive creative pricing solutions to meet client objectives and firm financial goals, including alternative fee arrangements
  • Counsel attorneys on pricing proposals, fee estimates, and matter budgets using templates and historical data
  • Negotiate annual rate arrangements and other client financial terms
  • Engage directly with clients on pricing issues, uncovering business objectives and cost pressures
  • Partner with Business Development and attorneys to craft pricing strategies for RFPs and manage auctions and competitive bidding
  • Set up matters for budget tracking with emphasis on alternative fee arrangements
  • Track budget progress, address overruns, revise budgets, manage scope changes, and communicate with clients and matter teams
  • Develop training materials on matter pricing, budgeting, and LPM
  • Create processes and tools to provide insights to attorneys and staff
  • Stay informed on pricing trends and apply insights to improve capabilities
  • Take on additional responsibilities as directed by the Director of Pricing & Legal Project Management
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 5+ years pricing and related experience, preferably in a law firm
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including drafting proposals
  • Strong commercial acumen and financial analysis skills
  • Superior organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint; working knowledge of SQL and Power BI; familiarity with legal billing systems is a plus
