Overview In this role you will support NOAA's Office of Marine and Aviation Operations by providing neutral mediation and conflict-resolution guidance. You work closely with the OMAO HR team to address complex employee-relations matters and promote a safe, productive environment. You will lead factual reviews, summarize findings, and inform decision-making while navigating federal policies. Responsibilities- Lead detailed employee relations reviews and summarize findings in written reports
- Research agency policies to assess conflicts more accurately
- Collaborate with OMAO personnel and HR on current and potential conflicts
- Provide neutral guidance for conflict resolution
- Advise OMAO and employees on various matters
- Identify mediation trends and apply best practices
- Demonstrate strong understanding of federal government operations
- Support project teams and program managers in daily execution
- Summarize issues and findings clearly and logically
- Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years in mediation/arbitration
- Mediation/arbitration training with verifiable experience
- Experience in formal ADR is a plus
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proven ability to propose resolutions to complex problems
- Leadership, organizational and decision-making abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Project administration/management experience preferred
- MS Excel proficiency; proficient in Word, PowerPoint; Publisher, Adobe
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Security clearance to handle sensitive engagement (facility access)
- Travel flexibility per Federal Travel Regulations
