Overview

In this role you will guide legal strategy for global product launches in a highly regulated fintech context. You will support cross-border and consumer payments products, partnering with product, engineering, compliance and marketing to navigate legal risks. You'll translate complex requirements into actionable guidance and collaborate with internal and external counsel across multiple jurisdictions. This is a chance to shape a world-class legal function within a fast-growing financial services company and help ensure responsible innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Advise on legal topics for new global product launches in regulated financial services.
  • Support development and launch of global products with legal guidance.
  • Gain and maintain expertise across FinTech compliance in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Counsel product, engineering, compliance and marketing teams on requirements and risks.
  • Identify legal risks and propose mitigations; advise on unclear legal contexts.
  • Translate legal guidance into actionable steps for product/business teams.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel and regulators as needed; assist with audits.
  • Build collaborative relationships with internal partners and stay current on regulations and consumer protection laws.
Key requirements
  • J.D. or equivalent; admitted to at least one State Bar in good standing
  • 6+ years of experience in FinTech legal practice, in-house or at a law firm
  • Knowledge of consumer FinTech products, cross-functional product lifecycle experience
  • Experience with prepaid/stored value, payments, money movement, and lending laws beneficial
  • Knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act/AML helpful but not required
  • General ability to work on commercial contracts and cross-jurisdictional matters
