Overview As a Senior Cost Accountant, you will own the cost accounting function, driving accurate inventory valuation, standard cost upkeep, and month-end close. You will partner with cross-functional teams to analyze variances and update product costs, supporting audits and ad hoc projects. Your work will influence cost control and financial reporting across manufacturing activities. Responsibilities- Oversee RPA-generated labor hours uploads into QAD
- Review and approve Product Change Requests (PCRs/PCOs)
- Monitor item master records and update material cost for new parts
- Manage sales channel setup for new product lines
- Weekly analysis of Material Variances
- Manage month-end close process for cost accounting and post related journal entries
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations for inventory and related accounts
- Analyze manufacturing variances (labor, material, overhead, purchase price)
- Review cycle counts and resolve discrepancies
- Review WIP balances and address outstanding issues
- Monitor inventory adjustment tracking and assess QA hold/RTV risks
- Perform inventory turn analysis and quarterly LCO/NRV assessment
- Lead Excess & Obsolete inventory reviews with Product Managers
- Track top E&O items and forecast actions to mitigate risk
- Identify inventory at risk and provide rolling six-month forecasts
- Upload temporary labor hours and prepare overtime dashboards
- Conduct direct labor efficiency analysis and forecast accuracy reporting
- Update finished goods costs with tariff guidance
- Lead annual standard cost roll and assist with audits
- Coordinate annual physical inventory and warranty-related financial impacts
- Collaborate with Supply Chain on consignment inventory reconciliation
- Work with Operations on manufacturing time studies
- Support budgeting and forecasting for manufacturing costs and inventory
- Partner with IT to enhance reporting, automation, and data analytics
- Develop accounting procedures and process documentation
- Identify productivity improvements with VP of Operations
- Participate in cross-functional projects and ad hoc financial analyses
Key requirements- Bachelor in Accounting
- Minimum 3 years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- In-depth understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory management
- Familiarity with cycle counting and physical inventory processes
