Overview In Washington, DC, join a leading international AmLaw 50 firm as a Privacy Associate Attorney within the Cybersecurity, Privacy & Data Protection Practice Group. You will advise on privacy compliance, data governance, and cross-border matters across industries, supporting regulatory analyses and policy drafting. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to handle due diligence, incident response, and risk management initiatives. Responsibilities- Advise clients on privacy compliance, data governance, and data protection requirements across industries
- Assist with regulatory compliance efforts involving U.S. and international privacy frameworks
- Conduct privacy and cybersecurity due diligence in corporate and commercial transactions
- Draft, review, and update privacy policies, data processing agreements, and related documents
- Support cybersecurity readiness, incident response, investigations, and risk-management initiatives
- Monitor developments and provide strategic guidance on emerging privacy and cybersecurity requirements
- Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice areas on complex matters
Key requirements- JD from a top-tier law school with excellent academic record
- Active Bar Admission in Washington, DC (or eligibility to waive into DC Bar), in good standing
- 1-3 years of substantive privacy, cybersecurity, or data protection experience
- Experience advising on privacy compliance, data protection, and regulatory matters
- Familiarity with U.S. privacy laws and regulations, including state frameworks and federal requirements
- Exposure to international privacy and data protection laws, cross-border considerations preferred
- Strong legal research, analytical, drafting, and communication skills
- Excellent written communication with client-facing advisory experience
- Comparable law firm experience strongly preferred
