Overview As part of the Innovation & Knowledge team, you lead a group of technologists to design, deliver, and optimize legal technology solutions. You will own the architecture of strategic initiatives and work hands-on to implement Microsoft platform-based and custom legal apps. You'll prioritize a growing portfolio, automate workflows, and ensure secure, scalable integrations across the firm. This role shapes how attorneys deliver services and how the firm operates, driving technology transformation.

Responsibilities- Lead and develop a team of technologists, establishing design, documentation, and quality standards
- Own the legal solution architecture and delivery of major initiatives
- Implement and support custom and third-party legal solutions
- Design and deploy integrations between practice tools and firm systems (Microsoft Azure and cloud services)
- Translate firm strategy into executable work pipelines with clear prioritization
- Coordinate across IT Operations, Infrastructure, Security, Data, and Knowledge teams
- Lead evaluations and proof-of-concepts for AI, document automation, MDM, finance and marketing apps
- Support adoption of new tech, troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, ensure good user experience
- Create dashboards and reporting to measure effectiveness and adoption
- Keep leadership informed of progress, risks, dependencies
- Ensure compliance with information security, data governance, and responsible AI standards
- Manage vendor relationships and due diligence
- Develop technical documentation, playbooks, and training materials
- Monitor legal tech trends to advance the firm's strategy
Key requirements- Proven people management skills with a collaborative, high performing team environment
- Balance of strategic contribution and hands-on execution in solution delivery
- Experience leading architecture and delivery using Microsoft Power Platform, Azure, Copilot, and related tech
- Experience with AI technologies in legal/business ops (e.g., document automation)
- Familiarity with legal tech tools across DMS, AI search/workflows, transaction management, legal research, and operations systems
- Experience integrating SaaS products and AI tools via APIs, SSO, and data exchange
- Understanding of data governance, security, and confidential information handling in a law firm
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision making
- Clear communicator with stakeholder and vendor management skills
- Track record delivering technical projects end-to-end and driving adoption
- Vendor management and product implementation experience
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Power Platform, Azure, AI, PMP) are a plus
- Hands-on willingness with 6+ years in architecture, low-code development, or solution implementation
