Overview In this role you will manage prototype purchasing for seat-complete programs, coordinating with engineering and program teams to meet milestones. You will select suppliers, secure quotes, and control costs for prototype components and tooling. You'll maintain supplier performance data, ensure ISO/IATF compliance, and support quality and delivery targets. This position sits at the intersection of procurement, engineering, and manufacturing, offering scope to influence cost, quality, and supplier collaboration. Responsibilities- Prototyping purchasing lead for assigned seat-complete programs and associated plants
- Timely supplier selection for prototype components to meet milestones
- Procure, analyze, and manage supplier component and tooling costs
- Develop and maintain bill of materials and part delivery plans with cross-functional teams
- Process purchase orders and requisitions with engineering data and CAD files
- Obtain competitive quotes from minimum three suppliers and evaluate bids
- Maintain Supplier lists, surveys, and performance reports; evaluate new/approved suppliers
- Prepare quotations material for supplier selection and program review
- Ensure ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 compliance; support audits and quality reviews
- Manage supplier capacity, quality, timing, and cost changes; resolve commercial issues
- Provide safe and compliant workplace practices; support health and safety objectives
- Support customer and program management with issue resolution and cost savings
- Utilize electronic PO system for approvals and documentation
- Coordinate with Program Engineers, Program Manager, and Project Coordinator
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
- Three years of purchasing/procurement experience
- Strong negotiation and cost management skills
- Experience with production material conversion and prototype tooling
- Good written and verbal communication; strong presentations
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks across departments
- Independent problem solving and leadership capabilities
- Basic CAD proficiency
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
- Awareness of ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 processes
- Ability to coordinate with engineering and quality teams
