Overview In this role you will support the Firearms Accountability & Industry Responsibility Unit's mission to enforce HB21/SB27 by designing investigations, coordinating with investigators and outside counsel, and pursuing civil enforcement actions against firearm industry members. You will evaluate legal issues, assess evidence, and help prosecute cases under supervision, contributing to statewide firearms accountability. The position offers cross-office collaboration across Richmond or regional Virginia offices and reports to the Section Chief and Deputy AG for Civil Litigation. Responsibilities- Design and implement investigations related to HB21/SB27
- Collaborate with investigators and outside counsel
- Evaluate state and federal legal issues and assess evidence
- Prosecute civil enforcement lawsuits against firearms industry members
- Support litigation strategy and case management
- Work with multiple offices and report to senior leadership
Key requirements- Three to five years of relevant experience
- Litigation experience (civil enforcement or criminal prosecutorial)
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication, and drafting skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Admitted to Virginia State Bar or eligible to waive into the VA State Bar
