Overview In this role you will provide practical, business-focused legal support for Expeditors' global operations. You will serve as the global lead for entity management and related governance matters, while collaborating with Finance, Product, and Operations to ensure compliance and risk management across more than 100 entities. You will also handle banking/credit agreements and routine dispute management, delivering clear, actionable advice to varied stakeholders. Responsibilities- Global lead for entity management matters, including filings, board meetings, and directorship changes
- Drive improvements with Finance, Product, and Global Business Operations for entity, licenses, and approvals
- Provide practical legal guidance across product, finance, tax, treasury, risk, compliance, cybersecurity, and operations
- Identify legal/commercial risks and develop business-oriented solutions
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements
- Conduct legal research and create playbooks/templates for risk navigation
- Manage relationships with outside counsel and legal service providers
- Contribute to Legal Department initiatives and continuous improvement
- Provide cross-functional support inside and outside the Legal Department
Key requirements- Juris Doctor, Bachelor of Laws, or equivalent degree
- Licensed or authorized to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 7+ years of combined legal experience
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements
- Experience working directly with business clients and stakeholders
- Strong analytical, research, drafting, and negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Sound business judgment and ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar legal, regulatory, and business topics and translate into practical advice
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs
- Experience in at least one: entity management, banking/credit agreements, or dispute/litigation management
- Experience supporting international business operations and multinational organizations
- Fluency in one or more foreign languages is an asset
