Overview In this role you will oversee daily site operations, directing subcontractors and labor to deliver safe, quality work on time and within budget. You will align with the project team to uphold the company's quality program and specifications, while driving efficiency and minimizing punch lists. You'll manage field activities, coordinate with the Owner's representative, and report progress and issues to the Project Manager. This is a hands-on leadership role with travel to project sites and a focus on safety, planning, and execution at scale.
Responsibilities- Direct daily on-site activities of subcontractors, vendors, and labor to ensure safety and quality
- Plan look-ahead schedules and maintain project schedule controls
- Identify and report problems to the Project Manager and document progress impediments
- Review change orders with the Project Manager prior to execution
- Handle miscellaneous purchases with Project Manager's approval
- Review subcontract agreements and maintain budget control for each activity
- Coordinate receipt and inventory of Owner-supplied materials
- Assist in preparing project status reports and provide weekly status and photos
- Deliver complete daily reports to the Project Manager
- Maintain open communication with the Owner's representative and participate in progress/scheduling meetings
Key requirements- Minimum of five (5) years of construction experience as a Superintendent
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively and reside at project sites, with home travel every other weekend
- Ability to manage a Critical Path project schedule
- Strong understanding of project documents, blueprints, revisions, and specifications
- Desire to succeed; strong leadership, self-starting, and drive for excellence
- Ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
