Sr Territory Manager, Specialty Care Business Development (P&C Insurance Senior Production Underwriter - Human Services & Nonprofit)

Overview

You will lead as a Senior Territory Manager focused on Middle Market Commercial Lines in the Human Services and Nonprofit segment, driving growth through strategic agency partnerships. The role centers on underwriting, sales development, and territory management to meet profit and premium goals. You'll work remotely with regular travel to agencies in the Eastern Time Zone, shaping specialty care services and risk management solutions. This position offers impact through cross-functional collaboration, portfolio strategy, and deep industry expertise in Human Services and Nonprofit accounts.

Responsibilities
  • Market, underwrite, and broker complex commercial lines business through select agencies or brokers
  • Develop and execute sales plans to drive new business, retention, and profit growth
  • Monitor market conditions, assess risk, and prepare account-winning information
  • Lead agency relationships, coordinate between internal partners, and manage workflow to meet service levels
  • Plan and drive agency business planning with performance checkpoints and territory objectives
  • Mentor and coach team members; support training needs and subject matter expertise
  • Proactively identify opportunities for growth across lines of business and consult on risk management and coverage options
  • Coordinate agency visits to develop new accounts and evaluate performance
Key requirements
  • Multi-line commercial underwriting experience with underwriting authority
  • Human Services and Nonprofit industry experience
  • Strong business development, sales, and agency management skills
  • At least five years' underwriting and sales experience in Human Services/Nonprofit accounts preferred
  • Expert knowledge of Commercial Lines underwriting, pricing, and coverage for Middle Market
  • Ability to travel frequently (Eastern Time Zone coverage; 25 agency visits/year) and work remotely
