Overview In this Actuarial Senior Consultant role, you help health clients address pricing, underwriting, forecasting, reserving, and value-based care through actuarial and analytical expertise. You'll lead cross-functional teams on engagements spanning insurers, providers, and government programs, shaping strategic directions and performance outcomes. The role combines technical modeling with client-facing delivery to support transformation in a fast-changing healthcare market. You'll work within Deloitte's Insights, Innovation & Operate team to turn data into actionable, value-driven solutions.
Compensation / Benefits- Discretionary annual incentive program
Responsibilities- Lead teams evaluating strategic direction for health insurers including pricing, market entry, network strategy, and cost of care initiatives
- Develop SQL-based models to price benefit changes and network adjustments
- Review Medicare Advantage and Part D bid submissions for accuracy and consistency
- Model lapse and retention rates and present results to clients
- Build ROI models for medical management and other health plan initiatives
- Prepare IBNR modeling spreadsheets for audit reviews and support project management activities
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree
- 4+ years of health actuarial experience
- Successful completion of 4 actuarial exams
- Ability to travel 50% on average
