Overview

In this role you will shape legal strategy for Amazon's vast fleet operations, partnering with senior leaders to navigate commercial, regulatory, and risk issues across vehicle procurement, fleet technology, and operations. You'll draft and negotiate complex agreements, provide business-oriented legal guidance, and scale legal resources for a high-impact, fast-evolving fulfillment network. You will work cross-functionally to drive compliant, efficient deals and contribute to regulatory and policy initiatives that support fleet operations at scale. This is an autonomous, high-visibility role with direct exposure to VP-level teams and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements including vehicle procurement contracts, fleet services agreements, technology vendor agreements, and SaaS/licensing deals
  • Serve as the primary legal partner to assigned business leaders, proactively identifying legal risks and providing practical, business-oriented guidance
  • Advise on a broad range of legal matters including commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, data privacy, intellectual property, and operational risk
  • Manage outside counsel engagements, including matter scoping, budget oversight, and work product review
  • Support cross-functional initiatives across fleet operations, supply chain, finance, and public policy teams
  • Develop and maintain playbooks, templates, and self-service resources to scale the team's impact and enable faster deal execution
  • Monitor and analyze regulatory developments in transportation, fleet safety, EV policy, and related areas
  • Contribute to the team's culture and operational improvements through knowledge sharing, process enhancements, and mentoring
Key requirements
  • Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
  • 5+ years of post bar admission legal experience
  • Knowledge of the ethical considerations surrounding AI in the legal context, such as confidentiality, accuracy, and bias prevention
  • Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent
