Overview In this role, you lead the Industrial Wastewater practice for Oil, Gas, and Chemicals within HDR's North America segment, guiding technical teams and shaping project delivery from concept through commissioning. You will develop business, lead proposals, and provide senior process engineering oversight for complex W/WW systems. You'll collaborate cross-functionally to grow client relationships, advance strategic goals, and contribute to HDR's inclusive, employee-owned culture.
Responsibilities- Lead business development for IWW services in North America
- Oversee proposals, client presentations, and pursuit interviews
- Provide technical leadership for front-end projects and business cases
- Lead engineering design of complex W/WW systems
- Develop design criteria, specs, and procurement documents
- Create P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and installation details
- Review vendor/contractor submittals and QA/QC plans
- Lead and mentor engineering teams and coordinate with project managers
- Coordinate permitting and water supply/discharge agreements
- Deliver internal/external training and participate in industry conferences
- Publish technical papers annually
- Support project closeout, site visits, and commissioning
- Contribute to strategic planning and talent development
- Maintain client relationships and industry positioning
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related field
- 10 years of relevant experience
- Professional engineering registration or license
- Experience leading diverse teams and cross-functional collaboration
