Overview As Senior Project Architect at HDR in Phoenix, you will lead design and delivery for industrial facilities across markets, guiding teams to develop high-performance, sustainable buildings. You'll partner with project managers to manage scope, schedule, and construction documentation while coordinating cross-disciplinary work and ensuring code compliance. The role blends design excellence with QA/QC, client interaction, and overseeing project phases from concept through construction. Responsibilities- Lead planning, design, documentation, and construction administration for multiple building types
- Chair owner/client and internal meetings and coordinate reviews with governing agencies
- Manage project teams to deliver construction documents and milestones
- Coordinate with Project Manager to manage scope and schedule
- Produce detailed construction documents and lead design activities
- Direct multidisciplinary team coordination across all project phases
- Review architectural documents for interdisciplinary conflicts
- Perform QA/QC and cross-discipline technical reviews
- Write/edit architectural specifications
- Coordinate addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders; incorporate changes into documents
- Provide construction observation and contract administration as needed
- Lead site work sessions with Client Representatives and team
- Perform other duties as needed
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience
- Registered Architect
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process
- Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
- Experience in preparing and laying out architectural contract documents and specifications
- Strong knowledge of codes and planning skills
