Overview In this role you design, deploy and manage distributed databases such as CockroachDB and PostgreSQL to support enterprise-scale data needs. You will ensure high availability, performance and reliability within a Kubernetes-based, CI/CD-enabled environment. You'll implement infrastructure as code, automate repetitive tasks with Python, and work closely with DevOps, application and cloud teams to maintain secure and scalable database platforms.
Responsibilities- Design, deploy and manage distributed databases (CockroachDB, PostgreSQL)
- Administer and optimize enterprise DB platforms (Oracle Exadata Redis)
- Manage containerized DB deployments using Kubernetes and related scheduling, networking, storage, secrets
- Implement infrastructure automation using Terraform (IaC)
- Develop Python scripts for automation and integrations
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for database and infrastructure deployments
- Ensure high availability, scalability and reliability of database systems
- Perform database performance tuning, monitoring and troubleshooting
- Handle production support (L2/L3) incident resolution and RCA
- Implement security, compliance and access control policies
- Collaborate with DevOps, application and cloud teams
Key requirements- Strong experience with distributed databases; CockroachDB preferred
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle Exadata, Redis
- Good knowledge of Kubernetes concepts and containerized DB management
- Experience with Terraform for IaC
- Proficiency in Python scripting for automation
- Experience with cloud platforms AWS, Azure, GCP
- Strong Linux administration skills
