Director of Cost Management - Semiconductor Construction

Overview

In this role you drive the cost management for a $3B semiconductor build, leading a high-performing team and aligning cost strategy with client goals. You will set best practices, oversee budgeting and forecasting, and communicate financial status to senior stakeholders. You'll partner with clients, project leadership, and contractors to enable successful delivery while advancing the semiconductor cost management practice. This opportunity offers impact across a large capital program in a dynamic, growth-focused firm.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of cost managers, estimators, and commercial professionals
  • Set cost management best practices, procedures, and quality standards
  • Provide strategic direction for cost control across all construction phases
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on accountability and client service
  • Direct budgeting, estimating, forecasting, and cost reporting for the program
  • Develop and maintain cost management plans for a $3B project
  • Monitor expenditures, identify risks, and implement mitigations
  • Review/approve cost estimates, change orders, forecasts, and financial reports
  • Build and maintain client and stakeholder relationships; present financial status and recommendations
  • Oversee procurement cost evaluations, bid analysis, contract reviews, change orders, and contract negotiations
  • Support business growth, client development, and reporting improvements
Key requirements
  • 12+ years in construction cost management, estimating, quantity surveying, or commercial management
  • Proven experience leading cost management on large-scale semiconductor construction projects
  • Experience with new-build semiconductor facilities, fabs, cleanrooms, or advanced technology projects
  • Experience managing cost controls on large industrial or mission-critical projects
  • Minimum 3+ years leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong understanding of project controls, estimating, forecasting, contracts, and financial reporting
  • Experience managing capital programs exceeding $500M
