Overview As a Senior Estimator at Sundt, you will lead preconstruction efforts with minimal oversight, coordinating with design teams and owners. You will handle diverse project delivery methods and manage both basic and advanced estimating tasks, including cost for mechanical and electrical systems and logistics planning. You'll prepare conceptual estimates and drive bid documents while mentoring junior estimators. This role blends technical rigor with collaboration across operations and design to shape project viability and value.

Responsibilities- Performs basic estimating: quantity takeoffs, pricing for all trades (including mechanical and electrical), and bid abstraction
- Develops conceptual estimates for review by senior staff
- Justifies and reconciles Sundt estimates on projects with third-party consultants
- Leads estimating deliverables: budget uploads, purchasing plans, subcontracts, General Conditions, logistics
- Executes advanced estimating tasks: prime contact for hard bid pursuits, coordinates constructability reviews, applies indirect costs
- Coordinates with operations to develop feasible schedules, logistics, and staffing plans
- Provides cost and constructability feedback to the design team
Key requirements- Four-year engineering degree or equivalent
- Experience in one or more key market sectors identified by the business unit
- LEED accreditation and DBIA certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven track record as prime contact with minimal oversight
- Ten+ years of estimating experience
