Overview In this role you will independently handle a caseload of predominantly moderate to high-exposure insurance defense matters, including Major Case litigation when applicable. You contribute as a trusted advisor to insured clients and internal partners, mentoring less-experienced attorneys and shaping case strategy. You leverage trial-ready skills, research, and persuasive writing to drive favorable outcomes while collaborating with experts and cross-functional teams. Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of moderate to high-exposure cases, including Major Case matters when applicable
- Apply pre-trial and trial techniques to pursue verdicts or settlements
- Conduct advanced legal research and craft persuasive pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery
- Appear at court events, depositions, and related proceedings independently
- Provide case analysis and strategic recommendations to insured clients and Claim partners
- Collaborate with expert witnesses and consultants on case strategy and testimony
- Foster strong relationships with clients and business partners; mentor junior attorneys
- Provide training and legal updates to clients and partners; lead related seminars
- Utilize case management systems and technology to enhance efficiency
- Support office goals through special projects and process improvements
Key requirements- Juris Doctorate in Law; graduate of an accredited law school
- 4 years of experience as a practicing attorney
- Active license in good standing to practice law in required jurisdictions
- Proven ability in insurance defense litigation and jury trials
- Strong legal writing, oral advocacy, and research skills
- Ability to handle hearings, trials, dispositive motions, and depositions; willing to travel
- Excellent communication and collaboration with diverse audiences
- Strong negotiation and decision-making abilities
- Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities
