Overview In this role you will provide comprehensive legal coverage for the equities sales and trading desk, focusing on equity derivatives and structured equity finance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage risk, negotiate key trading and securities financing documentation, and advise on regulatory requirements. The position offers growth within a leading investment bank and a hybrid work arrangement. You will leverage deep derivatives knowledge to support fast-paced trading and template development that scales with the business.

Responsibilities- Provide legal coverage for equities sales and trading, focusing on equity derivatives and structured equity finance
- Draft, review, and negotiate trading documents (ISDA Master Agreements, CSAs, master confirmations) and related agreements
- Advise on regulatory requirements affecting derivatives (uncleared margin rules, etc.)
- Support trading across products (equity swaps, options, forwards)
- Draft and negotiate securities financing documents (MRAs, MSLAs) and develop standardized templates
- Collaborate with Credit, Market Risk, Collateral, Operations, and other functions on legal, documentation, and risk matters
Key requirements- US ABA-accredited JD and admission to a US State Bar
- 4+ years of experience, preferably in-house supporting equity derivatives; AmLaw 100 experience preferred
- Experience drafting, negotiating and advising on equity derivatives and structured notes documentation
- Strong understanding of securities laws ("33 Act", "34 Act") related to equity derivatives
- Experience advising on margin loans and structured notes
- Strong understanding of ISDA framework
- Excellent drafting and negotiating skills
- Ability to simplify legal advice for multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
