Overview As a Traveling Project Manager, you lead construction and MEP projects across multiple sites, delivering on time, within budget, and to quality standards. You work hands-on on-site, coordinate cross-disciplinary teams, and serve as the primary client and contractor liaison to drive project success. This role combines field leadership with travel to sites, ensuring safety, compliance, and proactive issue resolution. You will shape project outcomes through effective planning, risk management, and strong stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities- Travel to project sites to oversee day-to-day construction and MEP activities, ensuring scope, schedule, budget and quality adherence
- Plan, schedule, allocate resources, and manage on-site logistics for plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and engineering scopes
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors and internal teams; lead site meetings, inspections, and safety briefings
- Monitor finances including budgets, change orders, invoicing, and cost forecasting; report to stakeholders
- Maintain project documentation (contracts, RFIs, submittals, as builts, closeout)
- Identify and mitigate project risks; proactively resolve technical and operational issues
- Ensure codes, permits, safety regulations, and client requirements are met; enforce QC processes
- Build and maintain client relationships; act as on-site representative for owners and consultants
- Mentor on-site supervisors and field staff to improve performance and alignment with objectives
Key requirements- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
- 5+ years of project management experience in construction, MEP, or related trades with track record of field-based project delivery
- Hands-on knowledge of plumbing, HVAC systems, mechanical installs and engineering coordination
- Ability to manage multiple projects while traveling between sites; valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently
- Strong understanding of construction methods, MEP coordination, blueprints, and contract documentation
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem solving skills; experience managing subcontractors and client relationships
- Proficiency with project management tools (scheduling, budgeting, reporting) and Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with building codes, safety standards (OSHA), and permit processes; PMP or other project management certification is a plus
