Overview In this role you provide legal work to examine and prepare legislation, programs, and related documents. You support staff directors and counsel legislators and committees, contributing to the development and interpretation of statutes. You perform legal research, draft bills and amendments, and monitor legislative progress. You contribute to governance and policy through clear legal advice and efficient communication with stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making.

Responsibilities- conduct legal research on state statutes and prepare legal opinions
- draft legislative bills, analyses, and amendments with precision
- track legislation through committees and floor action
- provide legal counsel to legislators and legislative committees
- interpret state and federal laws and regulations relevant to government programs
- recommend legislative changes based on case law, agency input, or public requests
- respond to inquiries and prepare routine constituent correspondence
- maintain communication with agency heads and counsel
Key requirements- Attorney in good standing with The Florida Bar
