Overview

In this role you will lead construction for Amazon's global data centers, owning scope, budget, schedule, and quality on new builds and capital projects. You collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-efficient delivery of critical infrastructure. The position centers on building resilient electrical and mechanical systems and driving value across vendors and contractors. You'll operate in a fast-paced, ownership-driven culture that values inclusion and hands-on problem solving. This is a chance to influence how AWS scales world-class data center capacity.

Responsibilities
  • Interface with general contractors through bidding, award, execution, and closeout phases
  • Negotiate and evaluate bids/proposals with detail and accuracy
  • Define project scope and issue requests for proposals
  • Perform financial analysis of construction
  • Manage projects aimed at increasing data center resiliency
  • Conduct constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs
  • Oversee construction documentation, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and invoicing
  • Quality control of construction work
  • Record and report key construction metrics
  • Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of equipment failures
  • Provide leadership within the team and with internal/external partners
Key requirements
  • 5+ years of project management in data centers or equivalent critical infrastructure (preferred)
  • Knowledge of critical data center equipment
  • Understanding of engineering documentation, electrical diagrams, and SOPs
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations (Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, OSHA)
  • Experience in data center engineering operations with electrical and mechanical infrastructure
  • Ability to read and interpret construction specifications and drawings
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field (as required)
