Overview

As an Associate in our Insolvency & Restructuring group, you will support representations in Chapter 11 matters and out-of-court restructurings for debtors, committees, secured creditors, and other constituents. You will collaborate with a cross-firm team to deliver high-quality analysis, writing, and advocacy. The role involves handling fast-paced, multi-project work, including cross-border matters, with direct client and matter management responsibility. This is a midtown NYC hybrid opportunity at a global law firm with a strong emphasis on teamwork and professional excellence. You will contribute to complex restructuring initiatives and help shape strategy for distressed situations.

Responsibilities
  • Represent debtors, committees, creditors, asset purchasers, and other constituents in Chapter 11 proceedings and out-of-court restructurings, including cross-border matters.
  • Conduct deposition and trial preparation when relevant.
  • Collaborate with attorneys across the firm as integral members of high-performing, collaborative teams.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Support development of legal strategy and client advocacy.
  • Participate in cross-border matters across the team
Key requirements
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to the New York Bar in good standing
  • 2-4 years of restructuring experience
  • Experience representing diverse stakeholders in Chapter 11 and restructurings
  • Top 50 law school graduate
  • Experience or familiarity with AmLaw 200 law firm environment
  • Deposition and trial preparation experience a plus
  • Strong academic record and excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage multiple deadlines
