Overview

In this role you will guide the legal and regulatory framework for distributing investment products across Latin America and select international markets. You'll align cross-border marketing with regional offering requirements and securities laws, collaborating with a global broker-dealer and asset-management network. You'll help shape compliance strategies across multiple jurisdictions, including Brazil, Mexico, Chile, and Argentina, enabling growth in LATAM markets. This is a high-impact, service-oriented legal leadership role that combines regulatory depth with business partnership.

Responsibilities
  • Provide legal and regulatory guidance on cross-border distribution of investment products in the U.S. and Latin America
  • Interpret and apply regional offering rules, securities regulations, and compliance obligations
  • Navigate complex regulatory environments and coordinate multi-jurisdictional compliance strategies
  • Support client and partner network across LATAM with emphasis on broker-dealer distribution frameworks
  • Advise on private fund regulations across Latin America and offshore fund structures
Key requirements
  • 5+ years of fund formation experience in the investment management space
  • Strong knowledge of the Investment Company Act of 1940, the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Securities Act of 1933, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and FINRA regulations
  • Working knowledge of Latin American fund offering rules and regulatory frameworks, including private funds and offshore structures
  • Experience with Regulation D offerings and international private placements
  • Bar admission in NY or FL (in good standing) or another state/jurisdiction
  • Law firm or in-house experience at an asset management firm or broker-dealer is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
