Overview In this role, you apply measurement science to develop and validate calibration methods that meet TUR targets. You'll interpret technical drawings, analyze uncertainty, and collaborate with Directors, Metrologists, customers, and engineers to define calibration requirements. You'll operate precision test equipment, train technicians, and contribute to automation through software for calibration processes. This role supports Transcat's metrology services and aims to improve measurement reliability across multiple parameter sets.

Responsibilities- Analyze calibration requirements to meet or exceed TUR for Metrology applications
- Interpret schematics/manuals/drawings to define Metrology needs
- Develop calibration methods based on measurement science and accuracy requirements
- Identify error sources to quantify measurement uncertainty
- Consult with Directors, Managers, Metrologist, customers, technicians, and engineering staff on requirements
- Operate equipment across parameters (DC/Low Frequency, RF, Microwave, Optical, Physical, Dimensional, Mechanical, Pressure, Flow, Temperature) and train technicians
- Perform Design of Experiments (DOEs) to calculate CMC
- Formulate and design software for automation of the calibration process with Software Engineers
- Assist in software system testing, programming, documentation and validation for calibration software
- Train calibration technicians on methods, applications and uncertainties
- Other duties as directed
Key requirements- Bachelor in Physics or Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years related experience
- Knowledge of Calibration Software scripting, Database software; Design software; Development software (VS VB, etc.); MS Word and Excel
