Lead Metrologist

Overview

In this role, you will develop and drive quality systems to advance product and process excellence. You'll collaborate with engineering, business units, and project teams to qualify products and resolve issues. You will apply metrology and measurement data to present findings to stakeholders and support PPAP and calibration processes. You'll lead quality projects and guide technicians to ensure robust quality practices. This position offers growth toward leadership or technical mastery within a renowned luxury appliance company.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quality systems and changes for product/process improvement
  • Collaborate with engineering groups and project teams to qualify internally manufactured products and resolve problems
  • Perform measurements using CMMs, calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, height gauges, optical comparators, and other tools
  • Analyze data and present results to stakeholders
  • Support Internal Production Part Approval Process and Supplier Production Part Approval Process, and Calibration
  • Manage projects related to quality systems and metrology
  • Develop and implement quality policies, procedures, work instructions, and control plans
  • Supervise quality/metrology technicians and quality processes
Key requirements
  • Knowledge of quality processes and Lean Six Sigma principles
  • Experience with Metrologic and Polyworks software, and 3D CAD software
  • 5+ years in quality, metrology, and manufacturing environment
  • CQE or CQA or equivalent certifications (ASQ)
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of measurement techniques (metrology inspection methods, tools, equipment)
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Root cause analysis and quality improvement tools (histograms, Pareto, run charts, 5-Why, fishbone)
  • CMM programming and ability to create standardized/custom measurement reports
  • Proficiency with computers/software (Microsoft Office, Agile, and quality databases)
