Overview As Lead Systems Administrator, you will serve as a senior technical resource driving enterprise infrastructure across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments. You'll shape modernization efforts and technology strategy, partnering with senior peers to implement PowerFlex- and Kubernetes-driven solutions. You'll tackle cross-domain issues in storage, networking, and compute to improve reliability and scalability. Responsibilities- Administer and optimize enterprise infrastructure across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments
- Lead support for hyperconverged infrastructure with emphasis on Dell PowerFlex
- Manage and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and related infrastructure
- Diagnose complex issues across storage, networking, compute, and virtualization
- Evaluate performance, capacity, reliability, and scalability; propose improvements
- Define technical standards, best practices, and long-term infrastructure strategies
- Advise on emerging technologies and future infrastructure investments
- Provide technical leadership for upgrades, migrations, and new platform implementations
- Support Azure, Microsoft 365, and hybrid-cloud technologies
- Contribute to automation, security, backup, DR, and resiliency initiatives
- Serve as a senior escalation resource for complex issues
- Mentor engineers and provide guidance without direct supervision
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams during implementations
- Maintain infrastructure documentation, procedures, and compliance records
Key requirements- 10+ years of dedicated systems administration or enterprise infrastructure experience
- Hands-on experience with Dell PowerFlex or another enterprise HCI platform (1-2 years minimum)
- Kubernetes experience and operator-level understanding
- Strong networking, storage, and compute integration knowledge
- Experience with virtualization, backup, DR, and enterprise systems
- Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, hybrid-cloud environment experience
- Security, identity, and access-management concepts
- Proven technical leadership and mentorship abilities
- Experience with infrastructure modernization, cloud transformation, automation, or data-center initiatives
- Familiarity with security/compliance frameworks such as ITIL, SOX, Zero Trust (preferred)
- Oil and gas industry experience preferred but not required
- Relevant Azure, VMware, infrastructure, or security certifications are a plus
