Overview As the primary field leader for Instrumentation and Controls and Low Voltage on water/wastewater projects, you guide installation through commissioning. You will coordinate with commissioning agents, owners, and subcontractors to ensure systems are installed and commissioned on schedule. You'll shape and monitor commissioning activities, working closely with cross-functional teams to maintain quality and project momentum. This role offers impact by driving the success of critical control and low-voltage systems in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.
Responsibilities- Develop and manage commissioning schedules for Instrumentation and Controls and Low Voltage systems from baseline CPM plan
- Review contract documents related to instrumentation and controls commissioning and suggest modifications
- Serve as liaison with Commissioning Agent, owner, and subcontractors to ensure correct and on-schedule commissioning
- Assist Scheduling in detailing CPM schedules for start-up, BMS controls, commissioning, and related activities with cost/resource loading
- Coordinate project logistics and temporary facilities for subcontractors
- Review submittals and approve material/equipment for I&C and Low Voltage
- Monitor installation and start-up with Engineer, Commissioning Agent, Inspectors, and Owner representatives
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Field Staff on activities and procurement
- Report progress to Project Managers, Superintendents, Project Director, Owner's Representative, Architect, etc.
- Represent McCarthy in project meetings for I&C and Low Voltage processes
- Supervise, develop, and mentor I&C and Low Voltage staff
Key requirements- Minimum 10 years of construction experience with a focus on Instrumentation and Controls and Low Voltage coordination
- Thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low-voltage systems and commissioning
- Understanding of Building/Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing codes as they relate to construction
- Experience managing I&C and Low Voltage subcontracts and relationships
- Ability to work in a large, problem-solving, project-first team environment
- Ownership mindset to identify issues, drive resolution, and ensure correct installation
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering is a plus
- Water/Wastewater construction experience preferred
