Overview In this role you will advance vaccine candidate discovery within Lilly's Infectious Disease research team in South San Francisco. You will screen antigen expression and perform immunoassays to profile preclinical immune responses, while organizing samples and coordinating study timelines. Your work directly supports candidate selection and program progression in a mission-driven environment. You'll collaborate across disciplines to keep experiments rigorous and results-driven, contributing to life-changing medicines for patients.

Responsibilities- Express and screen candidate vaccine antigens in mammalian cells in standard and mid-throughput formats
- Analyze antigen expression using Western blot, dot blot, and flow cytometry
- Execute immunoassays (neutralization, ELISA, Luminex) to profile preclinical responses
- Prepare and QC reagents, including virus stocks and recombinant proteins
- Support molecular biology workflows (plasmid design, cloning)
- Organize reagents/samples and coordinate inventory and study schedules
- Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions with team support
- Document work meticulously in an electronic lab notebook; contribute to SOPs and reports
- Analyze and present data to enable candidate selection and progression
- Ensure compliance with Lilly policies and complete required training
Key requirements- BS or equivalent in microbiology, biochemistry, immunology, cell biology, or related field with hands-on lab experience
- Authorized to work in the United States full-time; no visa sponsorship provided by Lilly
- 2+ years of industry lab experience (preferred)
- Strong communication (written and verbal)
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
