Overview In this role you will contribute to drug discovery efforts by designing and executing synthetic routes to novel molecules. You will work within CFD Research's drug discovery team to synthesize, purify, and characterize intermediates and targets, applying deep knowledge of organic mechanisms. The position focuses on delivering practical, implementable chemistry within a safety-conscious, on-site environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional researchers to advance innovative compounds and research programs, leveraging your hands-on expertise to drive tangible outcomes.

Responsibilities- Design and implement synthetic routes for novel molecules using literature, in-house procedures, or self-developed methods
- Synthesize target compounds and intermediates with efficient yields and purity
- Purify products using extraction, crystallization, distillation, chromatography, filtration, and sublimation
- Characterize compounds with NMR (1D/2D), MS, IR, UV-vis, and polarimetry
- Maintain safe laboratory practices and ensure compliance with safety protocols
- Collaborate with the drug discovery team to support ongoing research initiatives
Key requirements- Master in Organic Chemistry
- Minimum 3 years of post-graduate experience in synthetic organic chemistry
- Self-motivated with ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- US Citizen and eligible to obtain/maintain a Secret Clearance
