Overview

In this ASA-certified actuary role, you will lead the development of actuarial studies and analyses, guiding less experienced staff and representing the department in cross-disciplinary settings. You will apply actuarial techniques and statistics across pricing, claims, experience analyses, medical economics, profitability, wellness studies, predictive modeling, or reserving. You will initiate studies, prepare presentations for decision-makers, and make recommendations across teams. You will ensure work consistency, test results, and seek broader industry perspectives while mentoring others and aligning with corporate goals. Responsibilities
  • Define and diagnose problems; outline data needs and devise insightful solutions.
  • Lead the development of studies, analyses, and presentation materials for decision-makers; make cross-team recommendations.
  • Ensure internal and external consistency; perform reasonability checks and flag outliers.
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise and solicit input from internal/external knowledge sources.
  • Align work with corporate and division goals; envision and implement innovative processes.
  • Manage own time and resources across multiple projects; adapt to a dynamic environment.
  • Interact with stakeholders to foster cooperation and provide decision support to teams and executives.
  • Mentor and motivate less experienced staff; accept feedback and adjust performance.
  • Represent department interests in cross-disciplinary settings and negotiate effective compromises.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Key requirements
  • 5 years actuarial experience in area of specialization
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA)
  • Pursuing FSA towards FSA Certification
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
