Overview In this role you will lead a high-performing actuarial team within The Standard's voluntary benefits division, focusing on life pricing. You will partner with product line leaders and internal stakeholders to ensure profitability of voluntary life products and serve as the illustration actuary with annual reporting responsibilities. You will supervise, coach, and develop staff while shaping pricing design and strategy. Responsibilities- Direct and supervise actuarial analysis teams, including training and coaching
- Develop pricing for premium rates and fees; analyze profitability against pricing assumptions
- Conduct specialized pricing/underwriting for large cases or unique blocks of business
- Gather, analyze, and interpret profitability, growth, risk, and expense trends; maintain models for analysis and regulatory needs
- Collaborate with sales, marketing and other functions on product design and financial soundness
- Communicate findings to management and provide quantitative input for strategic decisions
- Lead cross-department projects and influence management decisions
Key requirements- FSA designation
- Group or Individual Life pricing experience strongly preferred
- Experience with pricing design and strategy
- Ggy AXIS experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in mathematics, actuarial science, business, or related field
