Overview In this role you support Circle K's HR initiatives by managing employee relations, recruitment, and compliance. You will collaborate with store managers and field teams to ensure effective talent operations and uphold company policies. You'll drive candidate sourcing, screenings, and onboarding while safeguarding confidential information. The role blends people-facing coaching with policy enforcement to foster a compliant and high-performing workplace. You will work with cross-functional partners to shape HR processes at scale.
Responsibilities- Maintain relationships by understanding strategies and operations; attend client meetings and assist in presentations
- Clarify job expectations, coach, counsel, and align employees with company values and objectives
- Plan, monitor, and appraise performance; foster a climate open to feedback and learning
- Promote diversity through coaching during hiring and providing training
- Handle employment-related investigations, documentation, and coordination with legal counsel
- Resolve manager and employee issues by investigating and advising on courses of action
- Protect confidentiality of information to maintain trust and operations
- Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and laws; advise management on required actions
- Audit and enforce adherence to legal requirements and corporate standards; render opinions to management
- Represent the organization in dealings with government representatives; attend hearings or mediations
- Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and professional networks
- Contribute to team goals and outcomes
- Post job descriptions/ad placements and build a strong sourcing pipeline using internet and social media
- Develop a qualified candidate pipeline for store management, customer service, hospitality, and retail roles
- Review resumes, conduct phone screens, and schedule interviews for store manager candidates
- Ensure recruitment compliance by working with RODs, Market Managers, Hiring Managers, and Training Manager
- Work independently with accountability, strong communication, and ability to multitask
- Adapt quickly to changing business needs; deliver excellent customer service; possess strong verbal and written communication
- Demonstrate attention to detail, sound judgment, and urgency
- Travel may be required with up to 60% field-based work
Key requirements- Bachelor in Human Resources
- Two to five years of HR experience preferred
- Computer literate in MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and HR systems
- Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong analytical and leadership skills with attention to detail
- Coaching, counseling, and strong verbal and written communication
- Diagnostic skills (listening, probing, analyzing) and sound judgment
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build partnerships
- Flexibility, adaptability, and composure under pressure
- Willingness to travel; approximately 60% field-based
