Overview

In this role you will lead the design and administration of the company's benefits program, partnering with the VP of Total Rewards. You will ensure compliant, competitive plans that meet employee needs and company goals. You'll manage vendor relationships, oversee plan communications, and drive program improvements across multi-site environments. This position offers the chance to shape benefits strategy, mentor a high-performance team, and stay ahead of regulatory changes.

Responsibilities
  • Administer health, welfare, and retirement benefits programs, including billing, deductions and leave management
  • Ensure regulatory compliance (ERISA, ACA, etc.) and mandatory notices
  • Communicate benefit features clearly to employees and management
  • Oversee vendor relationships (insurance and pension brokers/consultants)
  • Resolve benefit-related issues and respond to inquiries promptly
  • Evaluate current programs for efficiency and value and recommend improvements
  • Collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate employer contributions and deductions
  • Maintain records and documentation per federal/state/provider regulations
  • Keep plan documents current and communicate changes through year
  • Lead and develop a high-performance benefits team and recognize contributions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • HS Diploma or GED (required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive benefits experience
  • Experience in education or highly regulated multi-site/multi-state environments (highly preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of health/welfare and 401(k) regulatory requirements (ACA, ERISA)
  • Experience with PlanSource and UKG HRIS; auditing and record-keeping
  • Ability to manage confidential information and work in a fast-paced environment
