Overview

As Axon's Privacy & AI Counsel, you help embed responsible privacy and ethical AI into products and operations across a global footprint. You partner with product, AI, and employment teams to navigate complex regulatory landscapes while shaping how Axon builds the future of public safety. You'll implement scalable privacy practices, advise on AI data use, and guide incident response with cross functional stakeholders. Responsibilities
  • Partner with product, AI, and operations teams to ensure privacy and AI compliance across products and global operations
  • Counsel on ethical and legal considerations of AI training data and outputs; identify and implement AI-augmented workflows
  • Drive privacy principles through key workflows: impact assessments, DSARs, DPAs, and third party/sub processor reviews
  • Collaborate with existing privacy counsel to build and refine privacy and AI processes
  • Exercise sound judgment and self-direction in a fast growing, global business
  • Provide guidance during and after incident response and remediation with relevant stakeholders
Key requirements
  • US bar in good standing (JD)
  • 3+ years in privacy or data protection law, preferably with tech, SaaS, or AI products in regulated industries
  • Experience advising on global privacy regulations (GDPR, US state privacy laws, PIPEDA, Australia Privacy Act, LGPD)
  • Expertise in enterprise privacy via cross-border transfers, intra group data transfers, DPAs
  • Ability to distill ambiguity and collaborate across teams while upholding company values
  • Comfort applying AI tools, prompts, and agents to improve operations
  • Privacy certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPT are a plus
  • Regional EU expertise or healthcare industry experience a plus
