Overview As Product and Privacy Counsel at Brex, you will lead and scale the privacy program within a fintech context, working with cross functional teams to navigate complex regulatory requirements. You will shape privacy and data security strategy, advise on product design and go to market, and represent Brex with partners and regulators. This role blends legal rigor with product mindset to protect the business while enabling innovation in a fast-paced environment. You will partner with engineering, compliance, and business teams to implement forward looking privacy controls and risk mitigations.
Responsibilities- Scale data privacy and security programs with engineering and business teams
- Implement global privacy compliance including GDPR and CCPA regimes
- Lead drafting and negotiation of data-related contracts
- Provide product and regulatory oversight for all products from design to go to market
- Represent Brex externally to financial partners and regulatory bodies
- Integrate innovation with compliance across teams
- Manage outside counsel for regulatory, privacy, and data matters
Key requirements- 4+ years in law firms or technology/fintech companies with privacy and financial regulatory experience
- Deep understanding of CCPA, GDPR, and financial regulatory regulations
- Strong judgment, independence, and product-minded approach to lawyering
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to communicate across modes of business
- Ability to translate complex legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders
- Strong project management and time sensitive delivery skills
- J.D. from an accredited law school; Bar admission and active standing in at least one U.S. state
